Do I need a travel advisor when I can just book everything myself?

Maybe. (I bet you thought that would have been a yes) While for some people it might work to plan everything on their own, most people would benefit from the expert advice, professional connections, and booking services of a travel advisor. Even for someone who likes having a hands on approach to planing their family’s vacation, having one more person dedicated to making sure nothing slips through the cracks can be valuable.

What separates Evans Family Travel from other travel advisors?

With Evans Family Travel you will work with a full time, certified travel advisor. To use the title “travel advisor” you do not technically need to go through any training, and can work with clients simply by signing a contract with a travel agency ready to give them credentials. Evans Family Travel has gone through training provided by Careers on Vacation, giving them valuable knowledge, connections, and resources that not all agents have access to. In addition to being certified, Evans Family Travel works with Cruise & Travel Experts, making sure we are as informed, and connected as possible when we are helping you plan your vacation.

Does Evans Family Travel charge any fees?

Yes, while our fees may vary depending on the vacation being planned, we typically charge an $80 fee per household for our services. This is a non-refundable fee paid after our initial vacation consult if we decide to work with each other.

The only other fee we would charge is for planning flights. Domestic airlines stopped working with travel advisors after 9/11, and do not provide travel agents with any better access to booking flights than they do for the public. Not only do you have the same access to the airlines as we do, but we are not able to attach your rewards to flights booked by us. For these reasons we welcome clients to book their own flights, otherwise we are happy to take on this part of the trip planning for a fee of $25 per person.

What is the process of working with Evans Family Travel?

Everything starts with scheduling your complimentary consult. During our Consult we can go over the vacation you are dreaming of, who you want to come on this vacation with, and a handful of other questions that will help narrow down the perfect vacation!

At the end of our consult you can choose to move forward in the planning process by having Evans Family Travel plan out a few options to go over during our next planned meeting. After we receive your planning fee, we go to work planning out a few options we think you will LOVE for your vacation, checking to make sure each part of your vacation lines up perfectly.

During our follow up meeting we will go over all the options for your vacation, make sure everything looks perfect, and get your dream vacation booked! During this time you should be ready to make any down payments for your vacation as any prices or availability is likely to change.

After your vacation is booked, we will help you get ready with sharing any helpful tips such as packing lists, things to do, where to eat, whatever you want to know, we are ready to help make the planning process as easy as can be for you! We will also work with you to make sure you have any needed travel documents, and are aware of any important dates prior to your trip.

Prior to your trip, we will make sure you have all your travel documents ready to go, and are all set to enjoy your dream vacation!
